Brightwood International Kindergarten combines the collective brilliance of the AMI Montessori method with the creativity of its trained educators to offer a unique learning experience to children between the ages of 2-5 years.
The Kindergarten has many activities and excursions that keep your child healthy, happy and occupied. The children learn many subject-related content as well as social skills and etiquette, all of which are lovingly passed on to them by the teachers and support staff of Brightwood International.
Here are some of the highlights of Brightwood International Kindergarten.
Children learn many interesting skills and obtain snippets of knowledge on topics such as language, math, science, environment, design and creativity, music, dance and art.
Breaktimes and garden play is encouraged at Brightwood International Nursery. Children are set to play in a safe environment and learn about mother nature, trees, animals and the earth as they play.
Brightwood International conducts an Annual Camp in which the children are given the opportunity to take on challenging tasks. It’s a much looked-forward to event!
Every year we celebrate the artistic endeavours of our children by staging an Annual Concert. This is a very colourful event with many children participating in multiple performances.
Brightwood International teaches the students the value of culture and commerce in the Annual Fair held in April. The children dress up in costume and buy/sell many items.
We further show the value of multicultural coexistence by organising an annual Bhakthi Gee and Carol Service in May and December respectively. Students of any religion are encouraged to participate in these events.
We provide the national and Cambridge curriculum syllabuses in the school.
The National School Curriculum is divided into 3 sections – Primary School, Middle School, and Senior School.
Primary School education is conducted from Grades 1-5, Middle School lasts for 4 years from Grades 6- 9 and Senior School is conducted from Grade 10 – 13.
Students sit for the GCE Ordinary Level exams in Grade 11 conducted by the Department of Examinations. This serves as a necessary qualification that enables students to apply for the Advanced Level examination, which is customized to fit a student’s chose career stream. This qualification is used as the University entrance exam for the state universities and private universities in Sri Lanka.
