Brightwood International School was established in 2015 as a nursery under the name of Bright Kids. Within the first few years of its inception Bright Kids became a household name in the area as a nursery. The Bright Kids brand grew exponentially within 3 years, and the administration had to close applications due to the high volumes received. The Bright Kids organization decided to expand its wings to a fully-fledged international school in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. As the Bright Kids Nursery became Brightwood International School, we as a organization decided to expand due to numerous requests over the years made by parents and also to provide students with quality education in English Medium in the area.
As there was a requirement for quality English Medium International education along with sports and extra-curricular, our unique syllabus soon established itself a brand. During the pandemic, we as a school continued with student’s education online by providing and meeting everyone’s requirements, thus making sure their education was not interrupted. Brightwood International School provides the English medium National curriculum by the Ministry of Education Sri Lanka and the Cambridge International Curriculum of the UK. We have a robust sports program and a variety of extracurricular activities such as Swimming, Chess, Music, Dancing, Art and so on. We believe that students require a well-rounded and balanced education and we at Brightwood not only focus on academics but other activities as well in order to make them responsible citizens.
